As per a report from the Daily Mail, Arsenal fear that the injury picked up by Calum Chambers over the weekend could rule the defender out of action for the remainder of the campaign.
Arsenal’s dismal run continues
The north Londoners welcomed capital rivals Chelsea to the Emirates on Sunday, for a Premier League clash.
The matchup came as the first home outing of the Mikel Arteta era, following the Spaniard’s appointment two weeks ago.
Arteta’s debut on his former club’s bench saw Arsenal forced to settle for a point at struggling Bournemouth last week, a result which saw the Gunners’ abysmal stretch of form reach just one win in 14 across all competitions.
And, when all was said and done at the Emirates two days ago, Arsenal once again failed to get the job done.
Despite having headed into the interval on the back of a superb opening 45 minutes, and a goal to the good, a late collapse from the hosts eventually allowed both Jorginho and Tammy Abraham to find the net, as Chelsea departed with all 3 points.

The Gunners’ latest result, though, was not the only source of concern to have stemmed from their meeting with Chelsea.
Arsenal were also dealt a worrying blow on the injury front.
The player to have picked up the problem? Calum Chambers.
Versatile stopper Chambers, who had been handed a start alongside David Luiz at the heart of Arteta’s backline, pulled up following what appeared an innocuous coming together with Tammy Abraham with just over 20 minutes on the clock.
After being tended to be Arsenal’s physio team, Chambers was eventually forced to limp off, in what looked to be some degree of pain.
The Englishman was replaced by Shkodran Mustafi.

And, as per the aforementioned report from the Daily Mail, Chambers’ injury could be set to keep the Englishman out of action for a lengthy period.
The Arsenal defender underwent a number of tests on Monday, to gauge the seriousness of his knee issue.
And it is claimed that the results proved far from positive.
There are said to be ‘growing concerns that he has suffered damage to his anterior cruciate ligament.’
If accurate, such an injury would likely see Chambers sidelined for the remainder of the campaign, and possibly even into next season.
