Arsenal vs Bournemouth

The FA Cup 4th round is set to get underway this weekend.

The final 4th round tie will see Arsenal play host to Bournemouth on Monday the 27th of January.

Arsenal have won the FA Cup more times than any other side (13), last doing so in 2017 with a 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the final. Meanwhile, the Cherries have never lifted the FA Cup.

The Gunners edged past high-flying Championship side Leeds United in the last round whilst Bournemouth hammered Luton Town.

Both sides will head into this tie in search of a much-needed win.

Granted, the North London outfit have improved a fair bit under the guidance of Mikel Arteta.

But in their last five Premier League ties, they have picked up just one victory, drawing three and losing one.

As for Bournemouth, they did pick up three points earlier this week vs Brighton but before that tie, they had lost four PL games on the bounce.

Sokratis to feature vs Bournemouth?

Ahead of the clash with Bournemouth, Arsenal were looking a bit short-staffed in the centre-back department.

Calum Chambers already looks set to miss the remainder of the campaign due to injury.

Sokratis has also missed Arsenal’s last two clashes, including the Chelsea tie, in which David Luiz was shown a red card.

That could have left the Gunners extremely light at the back for their FA Cup tie.

However, the Evening Standard has handed the Arsenal faithful some good news on Wednesday, stating the Gunners are confident Sokratis will be fit to play instead of Luiz vs Bournemouth.
