Atletico Madrid host Levante on Saturday evening in La Liga as they look to build some momentum after the winter break to follow up an average first half of the 2019/20 season.
Despite a poor start to this campaign, Atletico have won their last two games in the league, and will be seeking a third on the trot to keep up the pressure on the three sides above them.
Levante though, are having a pretty decent season, sitting in ninth place, and will be looking to get another good result to help them climb the table even more.

Thomas Lemar has also recently been ruled out with a hamstring injury.
Levante will have Ruben Vezo and Rober Pier out of the game with injuries, but will be hoping that Oscar Duarte, Gonzalo Melero and Ivan Lopez can get fit days before the game. However, they all remain doubtful.

Atletico have played Levante just 22 times, with Diego Simeone’s side leading the head-to-head with 14 wins to their opponent’s five.
The last game between the sides ended in a 2-2 draw back in May 2019, with ten-men Atletico staging a comeback in the last 25 minutes thanks to goals from Rodri and Sergio Camello.
Levante have one win in their last eight against Los Rojiblancos, with that win coming in 2016. A Filipe Luis own goal and David Barral strike proved to be the difference in a 2-0 victory for the hosts.
Atletico are in a good run of form of late following a very inconsistent season, and will be hoping that they can follow recent results up with another win. The same goes for Levante, who have won their last three games in all competitions after two thumping defeats of Valencia and Getafe.
|Real Betis 1-2 Atletico (22/12)||Levante 3-1 Celta Vigo (22/12)|
|Atletico 2-0 CA Osasuna (14/12)||Melilla CD 0-5 Levante (19/12)|
|Atletico 2-0 Lokomotiv Moscow (11/12)||Granada 1-2 Levante (14/12)|
|Villarreal 0-0 Atletico (06/12)||Levante 2-4 Valencia (7/12)|
|Atletico 0-1 Barcelona (01/12)||Getafe 4-0 Levante (1/12)|
This could be a tricky affair for Atletico, especially with a number of key injury problems. However, they should still have enough for their opponents, and come away with a good win to start La Liga life in 2020.
Levante won’t make it easy though, and if they are able to keep the likes of Alvaro Morata and Joao Felix out for the majority of the game, then they might just have a chance of snatching a result.
Prediction: Atletico 2-1 Levante
