Liverpool vs Wolves
Liverpool and Wolves will go head-to-head at Anfield on Sunday.
The Reds began the weekend’s Premier League action sat with a very comfortable lead atop of the English-top-flight.
Liverpool are currently 13 points clear of 2nd place Leicester who are in action on Saturday vs West Ham.
The Merseyside giants are also 14 points clear of last season’s PL champions, Manchester City, who take on Sheffield United at 6 pm on Sunday.
As for Wolves, they are in a fine vein of form with Nuno Santo’s side up to 5th in the league after losing just once in five outings.
Wolves’ last clash also saw them complete a superb comeback against Man City.
Klopp on Henderson, Ox, Fabinho, Lovren & Matip
Ahead of the Wolves clash, Jurgen Klopp has provided updates on several of Liverpool’s stars.
Jordan Henderson was forced off during Liverpool’s emphatic win over Leicester earlier this week due to a problem with his shin.
However, the England international doesn’t seem to have too much of an issue ahead of Wolves.
When asked if Henderson is ok, Klopp stated:
“Yeah – it’s only pain!” As quoted by Liverpool’s official website.
As well as Henderson, Liverpool also had several other players dealing with injuries.
Those players being Fabinho, Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Unfortunately for the Reds, Liverpool have confirmed that said players all remain sidelined.
Klopp would also provide an update on the aforementioned quartet, stating they should all be back in training by mid-January at the latest:
“All positive but that again means unfortunately nothing in the first place because they should all be back in training [at the] latest by mid-January [but] how many games do we have until then, four or five? I’m not sure. So that’s a little bit of a problem but we have to see.
“Ox is walking around here without crutches, without a boot, but we have to wait until the medical department gives us the green light. Joel is doing well, Fab is doing well, Dejan is doing well, so I would say in February we will have them all back. Until then, we have to see.” As quoted by Liverpool’s official website.
