Lampard discusses struggles integrating Hakim Ziyech during hectic schedule

Man United vs Chelsea

Saturday’s marquee Premier League tie sees Chelsea face a trip to Manchester United for a 5:30 pm clash.

It is fair to say that both outfits are currently undergoing something of a transitional period.

However, Saturday’s clash should still prove an entertaining affair which may have some bearing on the top-four race come the business end of the campaign.

Chelsea will head into the tie having picked up back-to-back draws in all competitions.

Man United, meanwhile, have picked up wins over Newcastle and PSG in their last two ties.

Lampard on integrating Ziyech

Ahead of the trip to Old Trafford, Frank Lampard held his latest press conference on Friday.

The English tactician discussed a number of topics in the presser, one of which was Hakim Ziyech.

The Moroccan was dealt a big blow before the campaign had begun, picking up an injury in a pre-season clash vs Brighton.

This would, of course, keep Ziyech out for a number of weeks, with the former Ajax standout limited to just two sub appearances since his return.

And speaking ahead of Chelsea, Lampard would be drawn upon how difficult it is to integrate Ziyech into the side during such a busy period, to which the English tactician responded:

“It is very difficult because we have a bubble here at Cobham. We can’t play against the U23s or bring over a lot of kids to replicate an 11v11 game.

“That is generally where you would want someone to be working when they have not played four or five months at the back end of an injury. We missed that, so we have to do the best we can, train the best we can.

“Find the right way to give Hakim minutes, and others in the squad, because a few of our squad did come in with a few issues and try to get that as quick as we can. That is challenging.”
