With 10 minutes remaining before kick-off, let’s look at the team news, starting with the hosts!

After an eight-year spell out of the Premier League, Carlo Ancelotti’s return has been a positive one, sparking Everton into two-consecutive victories for the first time since March and April of last year. Despite a poor start under Marco Silva, the Toffees are up to 10th place, though a win could propel them above Crystal Palace and into ninth – and just three points off of a Europa League spot.

It has been a difficult holiday fixture list for Manchester City, whose 3-2 loss to Wolves was made right two days later with a 2-0 victory over Sheffield United. A return to winning ways barely helps Pep Guardiola in his side’s chase of Liverpool, who remain 14 points clear of third-place City with a game in-hand. A home victory over Everton would put the incumbent champions one point behind Leicester City in second, and close the gap at the top; at least until Jurgen Klopp’s men take to the pitch tomorrow.
