Man United will not pay more than £50m for Jadon Sancho – Sky

4 min read

An update on Manchester United’s reported pursuit of Jadon Sancho has emerged on Tuesday.

Dortmund star

Baring Kylian Mbappe, Jadon Sancho is arguably the hottest young talent in world football right now.

Since departing Manchester City back in 2017, Sancho has gone from strength to strength on the books of BVB.

The winger’s 2019/20 campaign has been by far and away Sancho’s best during his senior career.

In 32 Bundesliga outings this term, the Watford youth has notched a staggering 17 goals and 17 assists for Dortmund – a goal contribution record only bettered by Bayern Munich standout, Robert Lewandowski.

Man United won’t splash cash on Sancho

Such an impressive goal return has, as is to be expected, seen the 20-year-old garner interest from Europe’s elite.

As has been well documented now, a number of sides, including ChelseaLiverpool and Manchester United, are said to have shown interest in the former Manchester City man over the last year or so.

However, of the aforementioned trio, it is United who have been most persistently touted as a potential landing spot for the Englishman.

But whilst all those associated with Man United will no doubt be desperate to add a talent such as Sancho to their books, it seems the winger’s price-tag is presenting a stumbling block in any potential move.

It has previously been reported that the Bundesliga giants are unwilling to lower their asking price for Sancho and are said to be demanding at least £100m.

However, if the aforementioned report from Sky Sports News it indeed true, than United and BVB are light years away from agreeing a fee for Sancho.

It is reported that senior club officials have told SSN that Man United will not pay more than £50m to land the Dortmund star.

But whilst Sky add that United are favourites to clinch a move for Sancho, they also mention that Dortmund want in excess of £100m for his services.
