Liverpool 2-Man United 0
Manchester United travelled to Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
The majority of the tie saw Liverpool dominate proceedings, which isn’t too surprising given they were undefeated in the Premier League before kick-off on Sunday.
Virgil van Dijk would open the scoring for the Merseyside powerhouse vs United with 14 minutes on the clock.
“It’s the £70m man against the £80m man and the man who was actually cheapest came out on top.”

Jurgen Klopp’s side could have quite easily had two or three more before the interval with the gulf in class between the two sides very apparent.
However, the tie remained 1-0 until second-half injury time when Mohamed Salah ensured all three points were going to Liverpool.
Rashford misses Liverpool clash
Man United would be without one of their key stars on Sunday with Marcus Rashford missing the tie through an injury he picked up vs Wolves.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke about Rashford prior to kick-off at Anfield.
The Man United boss stated that he didn’t expect to have Rashford back in the next few weeks:
“I wouldn’t expect him to be back in the next few weeks and we’ve got a mid-season break. I’m not sure we’re going to see him before then, no. We’re going to give him the time he needs.” As quoted by Sky Sports News.
Rashford out for 2-3 months?
Given what an integral member of Man United’s attack Rashford has been this season, the United faithful will probably have been quite disheartened when they heard Solskjaer’s update on Rashford.
But Man United fans will likely be even more despondent if Henry Winter’s report is indeed true.
The Times journalist is claiming that the England international now has a double stress fracture in his back and is expected to be out for ‘2-3 months’.
Winter also stated that Rashford has a piece of floating bone in his ankle and will require non-intrusive surgery.
Rashford was carrying a single stress fracture in his back, now has a double stress fracture after Wolves game. Expected to be out for 2-3 months. Also has piece of floating bone in his ankle requiring non-intrusive surgery to remove. Been playing thru immense pain to help #mufc
