The Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates coaches have been prolific on social media at the end of 2019

Mamelodi Sundowns returned to South Africa as heroes after beating USM Alger 1-0 in the Caf Champions League.

Head coach Pitso Mosimane gives us a taste of how his team entertained themselves at the airport. The soccer stars were playing games on their tablets and phones while a few others were back with their card game.

Mosimane then found an Algerian football follower, who seems to be a big fan of Kaizer Chiefs legend Doctor Khumalo. The Brazilians mentor posted the video on Twitter despite his rivalry with Chiefs, in the name of Bafana Bafana.

The club also toasted their own, in Hlompho Kekana after making his milestone 300th game, where he scored the matchwinner in Algeria.

In one of his best videos, Mosimane wishes rival defender Achraf Dari a speedy recovery after the Wydad Casablanca player picked up a long-term injury. It’s rare to see such humility for an opposition player in football.

Then we look at how Orlando Pirates assistant coach Rhulani Mokwena has been entertaining followers on social media.

Mokwena shared a video of the football highlights of the decade, including Siphiwe Tshabalala’s goal in the 2010 Fifa World Cup against Mexico.

The Pirates mentor usually shares tactics related to the latest coaching techniques, such as those from Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola. This time he pointed out he’s spending hours researching Manchester United icon Sir Alex Ferguson.

After watching the Boxing Day and end of year Premier League fixtures, Mokwena has been particularly impressed with Adama Traore of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Traore could represent Mali or Spain in international football.
